Photoshoot FAQs
-
Wear what you’re comfortable in. You’ll be the best you in clothing that you love. Have a go-to fall sweater? Wear it! Or maybe you’re most comfortable in denim and a tee? It’s completely up to you.
We recommend wearing wearing a look you’ve already worn and know you feel good in.
If you’re purchasing new items for your session, we recommend wearing them around the house for a bit first. Make sure you feel good in them.
The only thing we suggest staying away from is super busy/tiny patterned items as they can look warped on camera. Everything else is fair game!
If you’ve booked a one-hour or longer session, there is time for an outfit change or two. Up to you!
If you’d like to switch things up even more, here are a few items to think about bringing with you:
Different jewelry
A jacket swap
Additional sweaters or scarves
Hair accessories (or simply putting your hair up for a few shows)
Tops that can be easily layered

5 minutes before your scheduled time is ideal. That’ll give you a few moments to find parking, take a breath, and collect yourself (something I always need to do before I hop in front of the camera).
We’ll select a meeting location in advance, so no worries on a surprise the day-of.

It’s all good! We’ll chat it up – it won’t be as nerve-wracking as you think. In fact, most of our clients feel the nerves before jumping into their session, and leave feeling refreshed and at ease.
We’ll walk you through it - that’s what we’re here for!
Gabi adjusts the level of direction based on needs; she’ll make suggestions for what to do with your hands, arms, body, etc. during the session and she often flips the camera around so you can see how the images are looking in real-time.

If you’re looking for a brand session instead of a headshot session (e.g., featuring your own products, etc.), bring along some “props” that make sense for your business. Are you constantly nose deep in a planner? Bring it! Do you have a shirt with your logo on it? Pack it!
-
Not a problem! Simply shoot us a note and we’ll find a new time. We do respectfully request that if you need to make a change to your shoot time that you let us know 48 hours in advance.

While we typically recommend coming on your own so that you don’t feel as though you have an audience, if you have a friend/family member/partner who you feel most comfortable with, please feel free to bring them along.
